About Astro Precision AS
Astro Precision was founded based on an idea of how to measure and correct tilt on astro camera imaging sensors.
To achieve good astro images it is necessary that all components in the stack are perfectly aligned. The value for the Critical Focus Zone assumes that the imaging sensor is perpendicular to the optical axis. If the imaging sensor is tilted relative to the optical axis, the focusing range is reduced and, and in worst case, it will not be possible to achieve good focus on the whole image area. Tilting can be due to misaligned sensor and/or inaccurate tilt-adapter or distance rings. The TiltPrecision instrument is designed to measure the tilt and help adjusting the tilt adapter to compensate for the tilt.
The tilt problem increases as the imaging sensor size increases.
